Rocket Twentyone delivers Bombshell in the Lassie
Post-time favorite was Always Here Too trained by Tom Amoss. She finished fifth with the winner 16-1 longshot Rocket Twentyone, owned by Frank Fletcher and trained by W.T. Howard., upsetting the field. Ridden by Eusebio Razo, the Ontario-bred daughter of Indian Charlie overtook Essence of Bubbles, the recent acquisition of Richard Ravin and handled by leading trainer at Arlington Park, Larry Rivelli. The thrilled connections are pointing her to Kentucky, possibly the Grade I Alcibiades Oct. 7.
Commenting on Essence of Bubbles second-place finish, Rivelli said, “We should have won, but she got too wound up before the race and left some of her race in the paddock. I haven’t had her long enough to realize she was going to do that - we could have addressed that issue.” Essence of Bubbles may be pointed to Delta Downs and the My Trusty Cat Stakes for 2-year-old fillies if all goes well, on October 22.
Jimmy DiVito, trainer of third place finisher Ann of the Dance, and the 8th place finisher in the Washington Futurity, Twelve Hundred, “We didn’t have very good trips in either race.”, with William Cox owns Anne of the Dance with B Jock Racing’s the owner of Twelve Hundred.
“We’ll probably take Ann of the Dance to Keeneland, while Twelve Hundred will stay at Hawthorne,” DiVito added. “He’s an Illinois-bred.”
The final order of finish for the Arlington-Washington Lassie was Rocket Twentyone, Essence of Bubbles, Ann of the Dance, Venetian Sonata, Always Here Too, Dream Pegasus, Yorona, Struck It Lucky and Coyote Breeze.
Rocket Twentyone paid $34.80, $12.80 and $5.60. Essence of Bubbles returned $6.80 and $3.80, and Ann of the Dance paid $3.80.

Shared Property Alone in the Winners’ Circle
Keeping his perfect record, Jerry Namy’s Shared Property ran a huge race in the 13-strong Grade III $100,000 Arlington-Washington Futurity (GIII), making the journey to Chicago a fruitful one for trainer Tom Amoss and jockey Leandro Goncalves. Catching post-time favorite Take Charge Indy, owned by Chuck and Maribeth Sandford LLC and Secure Investments and trained by Englishman Pat Byrne, Amoss declared intentions of running next in the Breeders’ Futurity Grade 1 at Keeneland.
Byrne and Take Charge Indy jock Jimmy Graham believe the colt would have won if he hadn’t lost his focus after getting to the lead. “The talent is there; he’s just green” said Byrne. “Of course we’re disappointed, but he’s a real nice horse. I can’t wait till we put blinkers on him next time out!“ Should the one-two running boys stay on track, they should meet again in the Futurity, as Sandford told Amoss at the post-race celebration while offering his congratulations to the winning connections.
“I saw him (Take Charge Indy) in the paddock and I was very impressed” Amoss told Stanford. “He’s a beautiful horse.”
Motor City, owned by Lantern Hill Farm’s Suzy Shoemaker and ridden by Calvin Borel, was a fast closing third moving from 8th to get up for third, followed by No Spin, the locally-based Hogy trained by Joel Berndt for Alice Mettler, Ville, Saturday Launch, Twelve Hundred, Fairy Cat, Heiko, Danger Storm, Priceless Shore and Squid to complete the order of finish of the field.
Shared Property paid $8.20, $4 and $3. Take Charge Indy returned $3.80 and $3, with Motor City paying out $6.80.
Berndt will take Hogy with him to Hawthorne Race Course to decide his next outing, polytrack or dirt.
